A flood warning continues for Marshall County concerning the Paint Rock River. The National Weather Service says that, as of 6 o'clock this morning, the Paint Rock was about a foot and a half above flood stage, but it was falling. The warning continues through tomorrow morning.
The weather service has also issued a flash flood watch for an area including Marshall and DeKalb counties for tomorrow afternoon and evening. Showers and scattered thunderstorms, some of which might be heavy, will be moving into the area tomorrow. Widespread rainfall amounts of one to two inches are expected with locally higher amounts. Because of soil moisture recent rainfall, the threat for flash flooding will be elevated. Again, that is tomorrow afternoon and evening.
