Alternate routes for road project

Alabama Dept of Transportation officials have asked engineers working on the extension of Interstate 759 to U.S. Highway 431 and U.S. Highway 278 to look at possible additional routes. Much is to be considered, including historic structures, residences, environmentally sensitive areas, schools and churches, and so on. ALDOT Engineer Johnny Harris says all routes will have negative impacts, and all must be studied. Harris adds, it's too early to tell if looking at alternate routes will delay the project.
